CLICK HERE TO BEGIN * Tweet Job Title Emergency Medical Technician - Paramedic (EMT-P) Location Brea, CA Position is based out of Brea, CA Department Operations FLSA Status Non-Exempt #### Job Summary: Responsible for administering basic and advanced life support services to, and transports of, sick or injured persons in the pre-hospital and interfacility setting. Delivers high quality patient care and customer service within the prescribed local scope of practice, established protocols and company policies. ## Essential Functions: Operational Objectives * Responds to calls in a timely manner based off Company protocols. * Operate and drive a Company Emergency Vehicle with due regard to state and company safety policies. * Maintain constant up-to-date knowledge and records of all current protocols issued by the regulating agencies pertaining to ambulance service. * Maintain licenses and certification consistent with the performing tasks as a Paramedic in the system to which designated. * Compliance with all provisions of the Employee Handbook, as well as all other company rules, regulations, directives, or instructions from supervisors. * Effectively communicate with patients, family members, medical personal, coworkers and the general public in verbal and written form. * Completing and maintaining accurate records and documentation with regard to transport, equipment inspection, supplies usage incidents and other forms of documentation inherent in the operation. * Demonstrates the attitude of a Health Care Professional to include, but not limited to, maintaining a clean appearance, demonstrating courteous, professional and ethical behavior, and demonstrating the ability to work cooperatively with other members of the EMS Health Care System. ##### Patient Care Compliance * Reviews paperwork for accuracy and correct process. * Must participate in scheduled and unscheduled onsite compliance audits. * Takes swift and immediate action in accordance with Internal Audit and Corporate Compliance on any areas of concern. * Complies with all policies and procedures. * Has successfully completed all required Compliance Training within the required time period. * Has had no compliance related corrective action during the current review period. ###### Training * Ensure that all required Certifications/License are current and remain current. * Attend all Company required OSHA training, annual or bi-annual training, and all mandatory Company updates. Complete the training in the allotted time the Company sets. * Maintain knowledge of job and medical field. * Keep current on training for new equipment, procedures, and techniques. * Attend available continuing educational seminars to improve management skills and recommend attendance of scheduled sessions to pertinent staff members as well. Compliance * Reviews paperwork for accuracy and correct process. * Must participate in scheduled and unscheduled onsite compliance audits. * Takes swift and immediate action in accordance with Internal Audit and Corporate Compliance on any areas of concern. * Complies with all policies and procedures. * Has successfully completed all required Compliance Training within the required time period. * Has had no compliance related corrective action during the current review period. ## Qualifications * Current California Paramedic license * County and City mandated certifications or licenses * Current ACLS, PALS, and BLS card * Current state Driver's License in good standing. * Current Ambulance Driver's Certificate * Satisfactory driving record in accordance with the Company's Driving Policy. * Excellent communication and customer service skills. * Ability to work cooperatively with other employees and medical agencies to provide the highest level of patient care. * Ability to read and interpret all required documents and write required reports and correspondence. * Other qualifications/certifications specific to the local operation and/or contract requirements. * Satisfactorily meet Company physical assessments/tests. Physical Requirements Physical ability to perform all tasks required in the performance of typical Paramedic duties. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to bend/stoop, push, pull, lift, climb. Occasionally: Work at heights. Frequently: Lifting and carrying up to 150lbs Constantly: Hearing/listening, clear speech, legible handwriting. Cognitive/Psychosocial/Mental Requirements Occasionally: Analyzing, judgment.
